A Question to Begin
What if your problem is not the season you are in, but your refusal to change your response?
Changing the season is not in your control.
Your response to the season is in your control.
This principle applies to money, relationships, career, business, trading, investing, health, passion, and daily habits.
Many people expect permanent good weather.
They expect relationships without disagreement.
Careers without stagnation.
Businesses without competition.
Markets without drawdowns.
Health without illness.
Habits without difficult days.
Passion without boredom.
But life does not work like that.
Everything has seasons.
Relationships have seasons of romance, routine, misunderstanding, repair, and maturity.
Careers have seasons of learning, growth, boredom, politics, reinvention, and opportunity.
Markets have bull phases, bear phases, sideways phases, bubbles, panic, and recovery.
Business has seasons of demand, slowdown, cash flow pressure, growth, and competition.
Health has seasons of energy and recovery.
Passion has seasons of inspiration and repetition.
Wisdom is not demanding that every season feel pleasant.
Wisdom is knowing what season you are in and what that season requires.
A farmer cannot control rain, but they can choose what to sow.
A trader cannot control the market, but they can control risk.
A student cannot control exam questions, but they can control preparation.
A spouse cannot control another person's mood, but can control conduct.
An entrepreneur cannot control every customer, but can improve the product.
The moment you try to control the season, frustration begins.
The moment you focus on your response, wisdom begins.
This is very close to the teaching of action without attachment to results.
You do your duty.
You prepare.
You adapt.
You improve.
You do not waste energy arguing with reality.
Financially, this matters deeply.
Bull markets do not last forever.
Bear markets do not last forever.
High income phases may not last forever.
Low expense phases may not last forever.
Good health may not last forever unless protected.
Because seasons change, your system must be stronger than your mood.
Save during good times.
Learn before crisis.
Invest with patience.
Avoid debt that assumes permanent income growth.
Keep emergency reserves.
Maintain relationships before you need help.
Take care of health before it forces attention.
Do not waste energy arguing with the season. Invest that energy in preparing for it.
Exercise: Season Map
Write your current season in each area:
- Money.
- Career.
- Health.
- Relationships.
- Learning.
- Investments.
For each area, write:
- What season am I in?
- What does this season require?
- What is one wise response this week?
Key Principle
The season is not in your control. Your response is.
Your Decision and Action
Decision: In good seasons I will prepare; in hard seasons I will adapt, not panic.
Action this week: Name the season you are in right now. Write one action that fits it: build reserves if it is good, protect essentials if it is hard.
